Completed

  • 1-4 Keble Road Refurbishment – Doctoral Training Centre relocation to enable creation of Energy Storage research facility in the Rex Richards Building. Completed in February 2020. Project Manager: Nick Mullineux, TMD.
  • Southwell Building compressor housing – extension for engineering turbine testing facility. Completed in December 2019. Project Manager: Nick Mullineux, TMD.
  • Castle Mill graduate accommodation – building and landscaping improvement works were completed in March 2020. Project manager: Jon Odell, CPC. 
  • Temporary accommodation for Covid-19 vaccine trial – urgent delivery of temporary Covid-19 vaccine clinical trials facilities in connection with the current coronavirus pandemic. The delivery of the temporary building was undertaken over a four-day period and completed on 5th May 2020. Project Manager: Nick Mullineux, TMD.
  • Early Alert Service – Track & Trace Temporary Buildings – Temporary modular buildings on two sites for the provision of Coronavirus testing, tracking and tracing for use by the Collegiate University students and staff. Delivered successfully against a challenging programme to meet an immediate need and in time for the new academic year. Project Manager: Aric Barcena, Estates Services

Completion due during 2020

  • Robert Hooke Phase V – Part 2 – Cluster Tool – Refurbishment work in the Robert Hooke Building basement to accommodate a new cluster tool for the Physics department. Awaiting delivery of the Cluster Tool, expected to complete over the summer. Project Manager: Andrew Sneddon, Ridge.
  • Kennedy Office Extension – project to add additional office space to the Kennedy Building. Construction has commenced and is expected to finish Q4 2020. Project Manager: Andrew Schedler, CPC.

At planning/design stages, or under construction

  • Biochemistry Completion, Science Area – The construction phase continues to progress well. The programme is currently in week 91 of a revised 116-week programme with key milestones met such as energizing of building, commencement of final decorations, ceiling grid installation, priming of key mechanical and building management systems.  Completion 01 February 2021.   • Humanities on the ROQ – The design team have been appointed and Stage 1 is completed. Project manager: Jon Odell, CPC.
  • IDRM (Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine) – Scientific research building on Old Road Campus. Construction has commenced and is due for completion in autumn of 2021. Project Manager: Anne-Marie Ratcliffe, Ridge.
  • Osney Power Station refurbishment for Saïd Business School – the project will be paused at the end of the design stage to review the business case against the impact of Covid-19. Project Manager: Jolyon Price, Ridge.
  • Tinbergen redevelopment – Demolition of the existing building and enabling works for the adjacent teaching laboratories are nearing completion. RIBA Stage 3 is nearing completion, the team is presently working to deliver the project in partnership with the University’s development partner L&G. Project Managers: Tim Crow, ARUP and Richard Todd, Bidwells.
  • Reuben (Parks) College – The project has reached RIBA stage 4, with opening up works and surveys currently being undertaken at the Radcliffe Science Library. Project Manager: Viv Barnard, CPC.
