At present the building's framework is being built, and procurement is underway on its external facade and internal fit-out. The whole project is expected to be completed in August 2021.

The IDRM sits in the land behind the recently-completed Innovation Building, forming a gateway between the Campus and the rest of Headington. The project gained planning permission in late 2019; when finished it will house around 200 scientists seeking to draw on the human body’s ability to repair itself to create new drugs and treatments.
